Pennsylvania hospital taps McKesson for billing services

St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, Pa., has selected McKesson's Revenue Management Solutions (RMS) group to manage its medical billing processes.

The facility will deploy McKesson Practice Complete, a bundled solution that provides RMS services, including patient billing, accounts receivable management and reporting, along with Horizon Practice Plus practice management software and RelayHealth payor connectivity services.

St. Joseph joins eight Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) practices, representing more than 250 physicians, currently relying on McKesson RMS to manage revenue management services. The medical center said it hopes to benefit from sharing a common platform for collecting and interpreting financial data with other CHI organizations.

St. Joseph is affiliated with CHI, a non-profit corporation based in Denver, and comprised of various not-for-profit corporations located in 19 states. It includes 68 hospitals; 44 long-term care, assisted and independent living and residential facilities.
