Philips acquires Dameca

Royal Philips Electronics has acquired Copenhagen-based Dameca, a provider of anesthesia machines and accessories for the operating room.

The acquisition of Dameca broadens Philips’ portfolio and, leveraging Philips’ patient monitoring, interventional imaging systems and clinical informatics experience provides opportunities for innovation in such areas as anesthesia-related clinical decision support, Philips stated.

Dameca’s current product line includes anesthesia machines, wall panels, pendant systems, flow meters, suction units and other accessories. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
