Philips implements eICU program in Texas health system

San Antonio-based Baptist Health System has implemented an eICU program from Philips VISICU, eGuardian.

According to Andover, Mass.-based Philips, the eICU program is designed to combine early warning software and remote monitoring to connect off-site critical care physicians and nurses to ICU patients around the clock. In addition, the program will help to reduce unnecessary complications, shorten the hospital length of stay and improve mortality rates at the five acute care hospitals within the system.
