Philips inks PACS contract with Texas Children's

Philips Healthcare has signed a five-year renewal/expansion deal for its iSite PACS with Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.

The iSite PACS will help grow the image management needs of Texas Children's as it embarks on a $1.5 billion expansion project, the company said. iSite will be utilized across all of Texas Children's facilities, including a new campus that will be equipped with on-site diagnostic imaging. Philips said it added volume to accommodate the new branch scheduled to open in 2011 and will support the increased demand associated with the recent addition of image management from a partner hospital.

The hospital, which is affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine and is its primary pediatric training site, has a medical staff of more than 1,580 primary-care physicians, pediatric subspecialists, pediatric surgical subspecialists and dentists.
