Radiologist arrested on multiple charges, including illegal firearm possession

A radiologist who runs a private practice in Florida was arrested in Auburn, Massachusetts Sunday for illegal possession of a handgun and for allegedly offering to pay for sex, according to a report by the Boston Globe.

Kang, Lu, MD, was pulled over after making an improper turn and for driving with a light out on his car. The police allegedly found Lu in possession of a Glock 9 mm handgun without an active license to carry such a weapon in Massachusetts, the Globe reported. Lu also had a woman in the front passenger seat who allegedly claimed he had paid her to have sex with him.

“Lu was asked to produce a license for the firearm, but he told officers that he was not required to possess a license for any firearm and could ‘carry’ one under the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States,” according to the report.

The Globe reported that Lu has “professional ties” to Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida, and operates a private radiology practice in Crestview, Florida, according to records obtained by the Boston news outlet.
