Stroke imaging specialist RapidAI hires new CEO
RapidAI, a leading neurovascular and cardiac imaging specialist, has hired Karim Karti as its new chief executive officer, the firm said Monday.
Karti has more than 25 years of experience leading medical technology companies, including 22 years at GE Healthcare Imaging, where he served as president and CEO. He also worked as chief operating officer for iRhythm Technologies, a San Francisco-based company focused on cardiac monitoring and artificial intelligence solutions.
“I am proud and humbled to join … the whole team at RapidAI in their mission to improve the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening conditions,” Karti said in an announcement. “I look forward to bringing my own experience in imaging, artificial intelligence and digital health to help push the boundaries of clinical technology and patient care even further and continue to save lives.”
RapidAI, based in Menlo Park, California, has received multiple Food and Drug Administration clearances for its automated imaging platforms, including a tool used to spot suspected large vessel occlusions and another machine learning system that improves stroke care. The former received New Technology Add-on Payment approval from CMS back in 2020.
