Sectra XDS-based network now region-wide in Northern Ireland

Using Sectra XDS framework, Sectra PACS has been extended to each hospital in Northern Ireland.

The project, called the NIPACS Programme, is part of a ten-year contract between Sectra and the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety in Northern Ireland. The contract was signed in September 2008.

Regional RIS/PACS systems had previously been implemented in 27 hospitals, and the latest extension brought the regional cooperation to the two remaining hospitals in Northern Ireland that had not yet been using Sectra PACS.
