Siemens announces multiple installations of Soarian
Siemens Medical Solutions has deployed new clinical modules of Soarian, the company's next-generation healthcare information system, at three healthcare facilities: the Chester County Hospital of West Chester, Pa., the Carilion Health System of Roanoke, Va., and the Fox Chase Cancer Center of Philadelphia.
The Chester County Hospital, a Soarian clinical beta customer, is the first healthcare provider to go live on the new Soarian Clinical Team module, which includes functions such as nursing assessment, patient charting and intake and outputs. The healthcare network, consisting of a 238-bed acute care hospital, has six units live on the Soarian Common Clinical orders and results functions, with one unit actively charting assessments in Clinical Team.
Soarian Clinical Team is the third Soarian module to go live at the Hospital, which has been live on Soarian Clinical Access since June 2002 and Soarian Common Clinicals since March 2003.
Carilion Health System, another Soarian clinical beta site, has gone live on the Soarian Common Clinicals module, which helps coordinate patient care with comprehensive order processing and worklists. The facility began rolling out Soarian in its NICU, pediatrics, maternity and nursery departments, and has integrated the system with its Misys Healthcare Systems' Lab, Siemens Novius Radiology, Siemens Pharmacy, and CoPath Anatomic Pathology systems.
Fox Chase Cancer Center, a 100-bed oncology acute care facility and cancer research center, recently converted 185,000 patient records and eight million results records from its previous clinical repository when it went live house-wide on Soarian Clinical Access.
