Siemens completes Scottish mammography install

St John's Hospital in Livingston, Scotland, part of NHS Lothian's University Hospitals Division, has installed Siemens Healthcare’s full-field digital mammography system.

Part of the nine-system order via the Scottish Procurement Framework, Siemens said its Mammomat Inspiration was designed with the input of healthcare professionals. The Mammomat Inspiration speeds up patient throughput and provides detailed digital images for diagnosis, the company said.

The St John's Hospital installation has replaced an analogue system, eliminating the need for processing chemistry and traditional x-ray film, Siemens said.
