Siemens helps to upgrade Sanford's hybrid OR

Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., will upgrade its current hybrid operating room with Siemens Healthcare's Artis Zeego angiography system.

The new hybrid operating room equipment in the Sanford Surgical Tower will allow surgeons to move equipment to around the patient because of its multi-axis system.

“The suite is designed to handle both less invasive and open procedures. In the future, these advancements will allow us to replace heart valves with smaller incisions and without opening up the chest,” said Charles P. O’Brien, MD, president of Sanford.
