Southern Illinois VA improving after misreading x-rays

U.S. Rep. Mike Bost, R-Illinois, recently spoke with veterans and employees at Marion VA Medical Center in Illinois following a report detailing misread radiology scans at the hospital, NBC’s WPSD reported.

Vietnam veteran Rocky Morris said one friend receiving care at Marion will lose his life because of the issues. According to the report, the institution reached out to all patients impacted by the errors.

Bost maintained the radiology department is improving.

“We met with the radiology group today,” Bost told WPSD 6. “We listened. They are working to improve that. We believe that they are. We believe they are meeting the goals and criteria that was set forth by the report to make sure that what happened here as far as the reading of the x-rays does not happen again.”
