Stentor's PACS integrated with Meditech's EMR go live at two hospitals
Stentor Inc. and Meditech have integrated Stentor's iSite PACS with Meditech's EMR at William Backus Hospital of Norwich, Conn., and St. Mary's Hospital of Grand Junction, Colo.
The integration enables care providers to view diagnostic-quality images through the hospital's EMR (electronic medical record) system. These images include x-rays, MRIs, CTs and other diagnostic-quality images distributed electronically from one central location. Access is available from any location within the hospital or from anywhere else across the healthcare enterprise.
"Our integration provides one-stop shopping for the referring physicians by including images within the electronic medical record," says Laura George, PACS administrator at William W. Backus Hospital. "We have integrated admissions data, as well as clinical orders and reports, to improve exam integrity from start to finish. Physicians are only required to enter one password to view both patient chart information and patient images, which improves exam integrity and continuity ensuring the highest levels of patient safety."
