Varian inks $450M deal with Toshiba

Varian Medical Systems has signed a three-year supply contract with Toshiba Medical Systems worth approximately $450 million.

Under the agreement, the Palo Alto, Calif.-based Varian will provide medical imaging subcomponents to Toshiba for integration into Toshiba’s globally marketed diagnostic imaging systems. Varian develops cancer treatment devices and x-ray tubes and detectors, while Tustin, Calif.-headquartered Toshiba produces medical imaging systems.
