Washington provider taps MedSphere, Phoenix Health for EHR, integration

Columbia Basin Hospital, of Ephrata, Wash., is implementing Phoenix Health Systems' Total IT Solution and Medsphere Systems' OpenVista EHR.

The Total IT Solution and OpenVista will allow CBH to integrate clinical information throughout its healthcare enterprise, making information available to clinicians in various clinical facilities and situations, according to Medsphere, of Dallas.

The Phoenix implementation will address the health IT needs of four CBH facilities: the hospital, rural health clinic, nursing home and assisted living center, according to Medsphere. Phoenix will also provide CBH with IT leadership, infrastructure management and application management under the terms of the five-year agreement.

The CBH implementation marks Phoenix and Medsphere’s first collaborative project. The two companies recently created a partnership focused on providing critical access hospitals with health IT to improve care in rural areas, Medsphere said.
