West Penn Allegheny Health System choose Allscripts as EHR provider

West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) has selected Allscripts of Chicago as its EHR provider for its primary care network.

WPAHS includes two tertiary and four community hospitals with a total of more than 2,000 beds. The health system, which admits more than 80,000 patients into its hospitals each year, also owns a primary care network of 36 physician practices.

Allscripts said that in addition to providing the EHR to its primary care physicians, all WPAHS employed caregivers in the system's hospitals will have view-only access to the EHR.
