Dr. Craig Thiessen Joins Singular Medical Technologies Board of Directors
Winter Haven, FL – Singular Medical Technologies, an emerging medical software company focused on the design and development of solutions to streamline access to images from multiple Picture Archiving Communications Systems (“PACS”), announced today that Dr. Craig Thiessen, Managing Partner of West Houston Radiology, has joined the company’s board of directors.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have a luminary of Dr. Thiessen’s caliber join our board,” said Richard Prati, Executive Chairman of Singular Medical Technologies. “With more than three decades in the radiology industry, both as a radiologist and as an owner of a very successful radiology practice in Texas, he’ll be an invaluable resource as our clients globally continue to adopt our unique medical software.”
“We work with hospitals all over Texas and have been looking for a solution to our PACS incompatibility problems for more than a decade,” said Thiessen, who founded West Houston Radiology in 1991. “When we were introduced to Singular’s technology, I knew immediately it as an industry disruptor. Lots of companies make claims about what they can deliver. Singular is the only medical software company that actually has a single worklist solution that enables radiologists to read from multiple PACS easily and efficiently. That’s why I’m very pleased to join the board to help grow the company, fix radiology problems, enhance productivity and improve patient diagnoses and outcomes.”
“Seeing the enthusiasm from the physicians at West Houston Radiology when they used our solution was priceless” said Felix Garcia, CEO of Singular Medical Technologies. “Dr. Thiessen has built an amazing practice and assembled an outstanding team of radiologists; solving their compatibility issues and seeing their productivity improve is very professionally satisfying.”
With 40 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Thiessen is a board-certified radiologist with more than 30 years in radiology and the last 10 as a breast specialist. He has seen breast imaging grow and change from xeromammography to film screen mammo to digital and onto tomosynthesis. His certifications include Diagnostic Radiology, American Board of Radiology and Fellow of Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. A regular guest lecturer at conferences around the world, Dr. Thiessen earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba and his medical degree from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He lives in Houston.
