ACR debuts course on high-res CT of the chest
The American College of Radiology (ACR) Education Center is offering its first course on high-resolution CT (HRCT) of the chest, April 20-22 in Reston, Va.
Taught by leading chest imaging experts from the Fleischner Society, the course is designed to provide practicing radiologists with the skills and understanding necessary to interpret HRCT of the chest in diffuse infiltrative lung diseases—a group of lung disorders in which the deep lung tissues become inflamed.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Proficiency in compliance with ACR Practice Guidelines for Interpreting HRCT. The course offers up to 33.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
HRCT of the chest involves the use of special CT scanning techniques to assess and diagnose various diseases of the lung. During the three-day course participants will receive lectures on specific aspects of HRCT combined with hands-on interpretation of nearly 200 cases on their own PACS workstation. Faculty will provide direct supervision and participants will have the ability to interact with them on troublesome cases. The integration of clinical, radiological and pathologic information also will be discussed during the course.
