Double Black Imaging

Double Black’s DICOMetrix PACS Performance Monitoring Software
Double Black Imaging (Booth 4676) is featuring an updated DICOMetrix, a proactive DICOM image flow and network performance monitoring solution. The new images per minute (IPM) feature allows for user-controlled monitoring on the enterprise version in IPM in addition to the images per second (IPS).

The IPM feature is beneficial for monitoring slower modalities and slower inter-facility connections in a PACS enterprise that are typically approximately 1 IPS, the company says. Monitoring in IPM makes setting baseline and alert settings easier and more accurate.

DICOMetrix is a resource tool that allows PACS administrators, directors and IT personnel to monitor, track system performance and alert radiology and PACS support staff about system slow-downs and outages. DICOMetrix is a three-tiered software package. The first tier is a client that sits at the workstation level (Rad station, modality, CD burner, Rimage and film scanners) and monitors how fast the images are coming into that station. The second tier is the DICOMetrix Server that resides on the DICOM Server and monitors IPs sending into this server as well as outgoing traffic. The third tier is a new web-based enterprise solution that monitors all clients and servers in one easy to access location.

The new technology shows early potential to make a significant impact on imaging workflows and patient care.
