InfiMed debuts new imaging platforms
InfiMed introduced its i5 medical imaging platform and i4 DR during the 94th annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago.
The company said its i5 medical imaging platform is designed to support multiple modalities and detectors from a single system and adapting to existing and future technologies as next generation medical imaging capabilities become available, the company said.
The new platform will be available early in 2009 featuring i5 fluoroscopy capabilities with additional modalities being made available through 2010. i5 features a multifunctional Flexible Detector Architecture to offer the medical community a high level of flexibility. It can integrate with various imaging receptors, including flat-panel detectors and Charge-Couple Device cameras and provide commonality across a variety of modalities including fluoroscopy, urology, angiography and digital radiology. The system incorporates InfiVision Automatic Image Enhancement software with one-click image processing. It uses advanced image processing algorithms and applies optimal image shutters. Images can be fine-tuned using automatic image processing settings for bone, soft tissue and organs.
InfiMed launched i4 DR, which was designed to provide a high-level image quality while reducing the amount of radiation patients and staff receive during x-ray procedures. The system incorporates InfiVision Automatic Image Enhancement software as well as advanced image processing algorithms and automatic image processing settings. Designed for OEMs, i4 can interface with a variety of flat panel detectors, and is adaptable, upgradeable and configurable for use with next generation flat panel detectors.
