Ascom and GE to enhance mobile physician communication

GE Healthcare and Dübendorf, Switzerland-based Ascom Wireless Solutions have announced a partnership established to jointly create a wireless hospital-wide messaging system. According to the companies, the system will be aimed at improving workflow and communication for healthcare providers, enabling the customization, filtering and sending of secondary alarms to clinicians’ Ascom Voice over IP phones, pagers and digital enhanced cordless telecommunications handsets throughout the hospital.

GE Healthcare’s patient monitoring platform and Ascom’s wireless hardware will be aligned via the terms of the agreement for the creation of the solution, said GE.
