Cardinal Health expands pharma integration services

Cardinal Health has expanded its ability to integrate its pharmaceutical distribution services with hospitals’ pharmacy technologies and processes for medication dispensing.

The Dublin, Ohio-based company stated it plans to integrate its services based on each hospital’s technology preference, but has already created integration protocols for automated dispensing cabinets, carousels, robots, re-packaging equipment and software from pharmacy technology providers including CareFusion, Sentry Data Systems, Swisslog and Talyst.

According to the company, integration capabilities include:
  • CareFusion: Pyxis MedStation system;
  • Sentry Data Systems: Sentinel RCM and Sentrex 340B software;
  • Swisslog: PillPick system; Boxpicker and ATP Series; and
  • Talyst: AutoCarousel, AutoPack, AutoCool and AutoSplit 340B software.
