Cerner posts revenue growth in 2Q for FY04

Cerner Corp. says the "outlook for the healthcare information technology industry is good," as sales and earnings increased in the second fiscal quarter of FY04, ending July 3.

Sales gained 10 percent to $228.4 million, compared with $207.7 million in the second fiscal quarter of FY03. Net earnings reached $14.3 million, compared with $8.9 million in the year-ago quarter.

For the six month period, sales increased to $447.1 million, up from $405.9 million in the first half of FY03. Net earnings reached $28.4 million, compared with $14.5 million in the year-ago period.
