Eclipsys completes acquisition of eSys

Eclipsys Corp. this week said it has completed the acquisition of eSys Medical Systems Inc., a radiology information system (RIS) company headquartered in Montreal, Canada.

On Nov. 10th, Eclipsys announced its intent to acquire eSys Medical to broaden Eclipsys' diagnostic imaging technologies and extend its clinical workflow systems in radiology. Using Eclipsys' systems, clinicians will now be able to view patient medical records, diagnostic images and reports in real time. The acquisition also increases sales opportunities for Eclipsys picture archiving and communications system (PACS) and RIS systems through integration with both Eclipsys and other clinical order/results systems.

eSys Medical will operate as a subsidiary of Eclipsys and retain its offices in Montreal, Quebec, and Toronto, Ontario. Financial details related to the transaction were not disclosed.
