EMR upgrades its EMR technology

EMR Solutions LLC announces the release of version 4.0 of its EMR2 Physician's Partner electronic medical record (EMR) system designed for physicians in private and group medical practices.

Features of the new version include detailed patient records (including graphic files), document scanning, medication tracking and drug interaction alerts, a color-coded chart filing system, internal messaging, customized consult letters, and a powerful search engine. In addition, the company maintains the system can be interfaced with nearly every major billing and scheduling software being used by physicians today.

A number of safeguard measures also have been integrated in the system to ensure patient privacy, including an open architecture that uses Microsoft's MS SQL 2000 and XML for data storage. This ensures information is retrieved and transmitted securely. Access to patient records can be restricted and information cannot become part of the permanent record without a physician's final approval.
