FDA approves Cook Medical leg graft

Cook Medical received FDA premarket approval for its Zenith Spiral-Z AAA Iliac Leg Graft, according to a statement from the company. The device is intended for use in patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms that require graft support in the iliac artery.

Features of the product include flexiblility and kink resistance due to a continuous nitinol spiral stent, according to the Bloomington, Ind.-based company. It also offers increased radial force at the proximal sealing site with the company's latest sealing stent design.
