FDA gives Fuji thumbs up for digital mammo

Fujifilm Medical Systems Aspire HD Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) system has received FDA 510(k) clearance.

The Aspire HD detector uses dual layer amorphous selenium (a-Se) and Fujifilm's Direct Optical Switching (DOS) technology. The new DOS technology eliminates the use of Thin Film Transistors, according to Stamford, Conn.-based Fujifilm.
