Fujifilm upgrades N.Y. hospital to digital imaging

Fujifilm Medical Systems has upgraded St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira, N.Y., to a digital imaging environment, with the installation of its Synapse PACS, its computed radiography (CR)-based Aspire ClearView full-field digital mammography system and two Fujifilm CR units for digital x-ray.

According to the Stamford, Conn.-based company, the multi-plate mammography system is being utilized in the hospital’s radiology department. The PACS installation provides radiologists the ability to digitally acquire, display, share and archive medical images and enables them to read studies from home, said Fujifilm.
