Hitachi Medical Systems America Announces FDA Clearance of Its SCENARIA Advanced 128-Slice CT System
CLEVELAND--Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc., a leading provider of diagnostic imaging equipment, announced FDA clearance to market its SCENARIA Advanced 128 CT system, the newest model of the SCENARIA scalable CT platform.
SCENARIA combines the latest dose saving technologies* with enhanced patient access features and rapid workflow in a 128-slice model that meets today's need for a CT system that provides both routine and advanced applications with enhanced performance and value.
Because SCENARIA is a scalable platform, the Advanced 128 features are also available as a field upgrade for the SCENARIA 64-slice model.
"SCENARIA is another example of Hitachi's ability to provide superior product value by combining the latest dose saving and imaging technologies with a premium feature set that includes a standard 2 meter scannable range table with greater than 500 lb. weight capacity and unique lateral shift capability (16cm range) to center the patient's anatomy of interest nearest to the scan iso-center," said Mark Silverman, Director of CT Marketing.
"The SCENARIA Advanced 128 model is an important achievement as Hitachi continues to expand the breadth of our CT Product line and installation foot-print in the US Market," said Sheldon Schaffer, VP & General Manager MR/CT.
* In clinical use, dose saving features may reduce CT patient dose depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location and clinical practices employed. Consultation with a radiologist and physicist are recommended to determine the appropriate dose needed to obtain diagnostic image quality for a particular clinical task.
