iTMP Tech heart monitor connects to iPhone, iPod devices

iTMP Technology has launched a heart monitor that can transmit data to an Apple iPhone or iPod device.

The Santa Barbara, Calif.-based company said its SmHeart Link is compatible with heart monitor chest straps from Polar, Garmin, Nike, Reebok, Timex Ironman, New Balance and Numetrex. iTMP said it also is compatible with the iSpinning cardio fitness computing device for bikes, and it is working to make the application compatible with other computing devices and bike sensors.

After a workout, users can upload data from SmHeart Link to their iPhone or iPod via a wireless Internet connection, according to the company. The system also is compatible with the New Leaf Fitness and MapMyFitness web-based fitness-management applications.
