Merge Technologies tops 40 percent revenue, earnings growth in 3Q

The addition of RIS Logic Inc. helped spur revenue and earnings growth at Merge Technologies Inc. in the third quarter.

 Revenues rose 43 percent to $7.6 million, compared with $5.3 million in the third quarter of 2002. Net income reached $1.6 million, a gain of 55 percent over $1 million in the year-ago period. For the nine-month period, revenues rose to $20.2 million, up 44 percent from $14 million in the same period of 2002. Net income almost doubled to $4.3 million, compared with $2.3 million in the year-ago period. Merge's results include approximately 10 weeks of RIS Logic results. The Milwaukee-based Merge acquired RIS Logic in July.

 Merge also estimated that revenues will total $29 million this year, representing growth of some 40 percent over revenues of $20.8 million in 2002.
