NDMA now stands for National Digital Medical Archive
i3ARCHIVE Inc. has renamed its National Digital Mammography Archive the National Digital Medical Archive, though the acronym will remain NDMA. The announcement will be formally made next week at the 2005 Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) Conference in Orlando, Fla. (June 2-5).
"We've enhanced our name to broaden and better define the context of how the NDMA is being received by the marketplace," said Derek Danois, president, i3ARCHIVE. He added that though reception to i3ARCHIVE's grid-based medical imaging data management system has been very positive, the name change is meant to clarify the scope of the company's breast imaging services which in addition to mammography also include ultrasound and breast MR.
The company's mission remains the same -- to provide a healthcare information network to assist with the management of large data sets such as digital breast imaging and reporting management.
NDMA is hosted on IBM's global hosting network.
