Philips and Inova Heart Institute enter into multi-year, strategic agreement

Philips Medical Systems has crafted a 10-year, multi-million dollar agreement with not-for-profit healthcare system Inova Health System.

 Philips will provide cardiovascular imaging equipment, consulting and professional services to Inova Fairfax (Va.) Hospital and supply Inova Heart Institute -- scheduled to open in 2004 -- with cardiac products and services.

 The Inova Heart Institute at Inova Fairfax Hospital/Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children will be a 156-bed facility dedicated to identifying the causes and advancing the treatments of cardiovascular diseases.

 Philips imaging technologies will be used for clinical practice and research including evaluation of a 3D cath lab, conducting studies on dose management and image quality optimization. The Heart Institute also will have 3 electrophysiology labs.
