RSNA: Eizo unveils new line of monitors

Eizo unveiled a new line of clinical review monitors, the RadiForce MX-Series, at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America last week in Chicago.

The RadiForce MX-Series consists of seven models that range in size from 17-inch to 30-inch. For each new monitor (as well as for previously release models) Eizo is offering a quality control tool called the Clip-On Swing Sensor G2, which—along with its quality control software RadiCS and network QC management software RadiNet Pro—is used to perform remote quality control operations. The G2 has a module installed that narrows the distance between the sensor and monitor to shorten measurement time and improve its accuracy.

Five of the models are now shipping. The 22-inch MX220W and the 19-inch MX191 are scheduled for mass production this month.

Eizo also featured its new 5 megapixel monochrome LCD monitor for digital mammography at the conference. According to Eizo, the RadiForce GS521 comes with DisplayPort next generation connectivity which allows the monitor to more easily adapt to high resolution or multi-grayscale display.

The RadiForce GS521 comes with a Sub-Pixel Drive function that can display 15 megapixels by controlling each sub-pixel independently. Its 2048 x 7680 high resolution is capable of rendering a sharper outline of a digital mammography image.

The company also showed its new medical surgical monitor, the RadiForce LX470W 2 megapixel widescreen monitor. The LX470W, which features a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 47-inch screen, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 178 degree viewing angle, is, according to Eizo, suited for displaying DICOM X-rays or serving as a repeater monitor in surgical or endoscopic use.
