RSNA: ScImage expands reporting tool suite, EMR/PACS communication
ScImage (Booth #3822), an enterprise imaging and informatics company, is releasing updates to its reporting tool suite and unveiling a toolset for EMR and PACS communication at the 2009 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference.
The company developed a toolset for delivering PACS content to EMR, allowing it to be implemented into its content delivery mechanism, PicomWeb, at institutions where images, waveforms, final reports and other diagnostic documents are available to EMR users.
The URL-based interface delivers image pointers to the target application which, upon activation, delivers the PicomWeb viewer and requested content, ScImage said. Users may browse to patient images and data for clinical review and access them using standard image manipulation tools.
Also at RSNA 2009, the Los Altos, Calif.-based ScImage is showcasing its diagnostic-reporting suite that now includes voice recognition for multiple specialties while delivering physician-specific configurability for multiple disciplines.
PicomEnterprise provides a radiology reporting module based on Dragon speech engine, which is natively available from the physician worklist. The company said the speech and reporting tools are suited for physicians who wish to dictate within PicomEnterprise for external transcription and proceed with batch signing.
