RSNA Research and Education Foundation announces $3.6M in grants for 2015

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Research and Education Foundation will shell out $3.6 million to fund 92 grants this year, according to a statement from the foundation.

A total of 47 different North American institutions and one in India make up the list of this year’s recipients. Projects being funded include research on the use of duel energy cardiac CT for improved identification and quantification of myocardial scarring in patients with cardiac disease and the exploration of the effectiveness of MRI thermography-guided laser ablation for treating head and neck tumors in patients who are not candidates for radiation or open surgery

“The 2015 recipients represent the future of radiology, and their inspiring research and education initiatives will continue to move the specialty forward and drive medical research,” said Burton P. Drayer, MD, R&E Foundation chair, in a statement.

The R&E Foundation has given more than $47 million in grants since 1984.
