Siemens brings 3T MRI system with Tim technology to market

Siemens Medical Solutions this week announced the availability of its Magnetom Trio 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system with Tim (total imaging matrix) technology.

Tim is Siemens whole body surface coil design that combines up to 102 integrated coil elements with up to 32 RF channels. Tim technology enables coil combinations to encompass local high resolution imaging to large anatomical coverage up to 182 cm.

According to Siemens, the system is suited for clinical and research MRI of all organs and body regions, and opens new doors to applications, including abdominal, cardiac, spine, whole-body and orthopedic MRI at 3T.

New York University Medical Center is the first facility to install the Magnetom Trio with Tim.
