Siemens, HipGraphics to advance syngo InSpace for 3D
Siemens Medical Solutions and HipGraphics Inc. of Baltimore, Md. this week revealed plans to continue advancing syngo InSpace, an interactive image processing software that enables three-dimensional (3D) processing of large volume data sets in real-time.
In addition to handling large data sets generated by the Siemens family of Somatom Sensation multislice computed tomography (CT) scanners, Siemens said the latest version of the software displays organs in motion.
InSpace runs under the Siemens user interface and offers high performance 3D interactions for volume rendering technique, maximum intensity projection, minimum intensity projection and multi-planar reformatting. Additionally, the software provides for anatomical analysis in real-time, for example, during angiographic interventions.
First introduced in 2002, Siemens said the technology has been installed world wide in more than 1,000 locations. It is available for implementation directly at imaging modalities as well as for Leonardo, Siemens's multi-modality workstation.
