Siemens presents lithotripsy platform at AUA
Siemens Medical Solutions demonstrated its urology systems at the American Urological Association annual meeting this past week in Chicago.
The Modularis Litho Vario system is an extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) for the treatment of kidney stones. The system provides physicians flexibility in allowing the lithotripsy module to be paired with their choice of Siemens C-arm.
Siemens showcased its Siremobil Iso-C3D mobile C-arm, capable of generating 3D CT-like images. Intra-operative 3D imaging with the Siremobil Iso-C3D, now cleared for indications covering the entire body, is used to confirm positioning of seeds implanted into the prostate.
Additionally, Siemens also highlighted its new Sonoline G20 ultrasound system and a new software release on the Sonoline G50 ultrasound system that support all urology applications, including imaging of the bladder, urethra, kidneys, and transrectal examination of the prostate.
