Siemens, Safety Stop make MRI facilities safer

Siemens Accessories Group has announced a partnership with Safety Stop Inc. to prevent potential accidents related to the powerful magnetic fields created by magnetic resonance (MR) systems. Through the partnership, signage will be offered to remind personnel to keep metallic objects away from the magnet room, Siemens said.

Through research Safety Stop has determined that most MR accidents are completely preventable, but most facilities use signs that are difficult to see. Thus, Safety Stop has created a high-visibility sign to be placed outside of all entrance ways. The signs are metal free, easy to install, and available in both English and Spanish.
