Siemens, UI Healthcare join forces

Siemens Medical Solutions announced a 15-year strategic alliance with the University of Iowa (UI) Health Care.

As part of the alliance, experts with UI Health Care -- which includes UI Hospitals and Clinics, the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, and the UI College of Engineering -- will have access to the latest medical imaging technologies from Siemens, including magnetic resonance (MR), computed tomography (CT) and positron emission tomography (PET) systems, as well as oncology treatment systems.

Siemens says future opportunities may expand the agreement to include healthcare information technology systems, building technologies, and information network and communications services.
