TeraMedica announces agreement with Waukesha Memorial Hospital

TeraMedica Healthcare Technology announced this week an agreement with Waukesha Memorial Hospital for TeraMedica's Evercore Clinical Information Manager, a health information system that captures data from imaging devices, stores the digital images, and makes them available at points of patient care throughout the healthcare enterprise.

Waukesha Memorial will use Evercore's SmartStore-the part of EverCore that allows users to create clinical-based storage policies-on its main campus before connecting other clinics and hospitals in the Waukesha Hospital System, such as Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.

Michael Moratek, PACS system administrator for Waukesha Memorial Hospital, said that a need for a policy-controlled storage pool is a main reason for Waukesha's partnership with TeraMedica. "We have media retention studies that need to be kept for different lengths of time," he said. "To break those apart according to various retention standards would be extremely expensive. With TeraMedica, we will be able to pass the information studies-all radiology studies-into the database and set up teams to separate and apply different policy controls to the studies. It is the most cost-effective and efficient solution for us."
