TomTec introduces Research-Arena
TomTec Imaging Systems of Munich, Germany, this week introduced its new off-line platform for advanced cardiac quantification called Research-Arena.
According to TomTec, there is a growing demand for quantification in cardiac ultrasound that has led to an increasing number of isolated analysis systems. Research-Arena allows the user to import 2D DICOM images and 3D studies in various formats. All measurement results can be transferred via DICOM structured report into customizable templates providing a consistent reporting. The export of all measurement data allows subsequent statistical analysis.
Bernhard Mumm, TomTec's president and CTO said, "Knowing that our customers pay more and more attention to workflow optimization, it was essential for us to integrate Research-Arena into the actual Echo lab. We concluded that this can only be achieved with an off-line workstation concept. This system doesn't tie up the ultrasound system for advanced quantification. Nevertheless, the user can directly communicate with the existing ultrasound and PACS environment via a DICOM network."
TomTec received the FDA 510k premarket notification in June to market its Research-Arena applications in the United States, as well as a CE certification for the European market.
