October 2015, Visbion are delighted to announce that they have developed a new and innovative solution for the national breast screening programme. The service provides transfer of digital images; a real-time worklist on the x-ray unit in the van and live access to the Trust NBSS system. This new service is based on Visbion’s unique and widely deployed Image Cube that has been used in mobile MRI and CT scanners across the UK to facilitate the transmission of standard DICOM images from mobile vans to a central PACS.

An efficient service is promoted by reducing the time and cost associated with using couriers to transfer paper worklists and images on USB drives, with the associated improvements in Information Governance. Real time updates to worklists allow staff to focus on clinical duties rather than administrative tasks and supports a paper-lite workflow. The service is now fully proven and has been in use in a number of breast screening vans for the past 18months.
