Winchester: simplifying the management of large amounts of data

Burlington, Mass.-based Winchester System Inc. introduced a large scale Serial ATA (SATA) disk array that is targeted at data archiving applications.

The SA-700 scales to 800 SATA disk drives and 320 terabytes of storage with 400 gigabyte disks and 400TB per system when 500GB SATA drives are available, Winchester said.

Winchester includes the FlashConsole with every data storage system. It provides centralized management using any browser-based workstation on the local area network. FlashAlert, a 24-hour "call-home" remote monitoring and alert service, is also included for one year, Winchester said.
