Parents in Sydney, Australia, are still seeking answers after their toddler suffered an injury during a routine MRI at a local hospital. 

According to local news coverage, the young girl suffered a second degree burn on her leg, which was discovered when the toddler woke up from sedation and began screaming. Frustrated, the parents took their daughter to a second hospital, where she was diagnosed with a contact burn.

While the incident spurred an investigation at the hospital, the couple said they aren’t expecting to receive any answers as to how the injury occurred, because there are no clear explanations.  

In a statement, the hospital has apologized to the family. The toddler is healthy and expected to fully recover, but how she received a serious burn from the MRI machine remains a mystery.
