IBA introduces single-room proton therapy system

A new single-room proton therapy system, Proteus ONE, roughly one-third the size of the current gantry configuration system from IBA particle therapy, will be available for cancer treatment centers.

The Proteus One is premiering at the annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology held in San Diego this week. The treatment room is first scheduled to open at a planned proton therapy center in Europe, said the Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium-based IBA.
