Positron wins patent for PET technology

The U.S. Patent and Trademark office has issued a patent for Positron's Tech-Assist, which reduces radiation exposure to the worker while injecting radiopharmaceuticals into patients when performing PET imaging studies.

The Tech-Assist can accept single syringes from a nuclear pharmacy or can be combined with other Positron equipment, such as the Nuclear Pharm-Assist to dispense unit doses from a vial, said the Indianapolis-based company.
