Shared Imaging acquires mobile PET/CT provider

Shared Imaging, a provider of CT, MRI and PET/CT systems and service programs for hospitals and healthcare providers, has acquired the operating assets of Morganville, N.J.-based Pet Imaging Centers, a provider of mobile PET/CT services.

The Streamwood, Ill.-based Shared Imaging said the acquisition will expand its services to meet the needs of hospitals and health networks that have limited capital.

In addition to the mobile PET/CT services previously offered through Pet Imaging Centers, clients now will be able to access the diagnostic programs offered by Shared Imaging, including long-term programs for CT, MRI, and PET/CT; short-term rental solutions for various modalities; mobile MRI routes and services, the company said.
