Vital Images, Mirada Solutions to integrate imaging technologies

Medical imaging software company Vital Images Inc. has signed an agreement with Mirada Solutions Ltd. to integrate Mirada's positron emission technology (PET) and image fusion software into Vital Images' Vitrea software.

Vital Images, based in Minneapolis, plans a commercial launch of the new product in 2004.

Mirada's technology is designed to fuse images from the same or different imaging modalities, such as MRI, PET or CT, from datasets acquired at different times or from datasets generated on equipment from different manufacturers.

Mirada's recent acquisition by CTI Molecular Imaging Inc. "means that the Vital Images relationship represents an even greater distribution opportunity for PET and molecular imaging technology," said Mirada Solutions CEO Chris Behrenbruch. Mirada Solutions is based in Oxford, England.
