An MRI's sensitivity to movement during scans often leads to image artifacts, risking misdiagnoses and redundant scans. But a new deep learning model may be able to compensate.

Delphinus Medical Technologies says it will use the investment to expand the commercial adoption of its SoftVue 3D Whole Breast Tomography System.

After previewing the new software in September, Rad AI will make it commercially available throughout the United States at RSNA 2023 in Chicago.

Using the new-look algorithm consistently improved reader accuracy, especially among less experienced radiologists. It also helped limit false-positive results. 

“We argue that the results could be replicated elsewhere if guidelines are followed and the urologist and MRI radiologist are dedicated,” researchers noted. 

The new-look system is able to evaluate a situation and anticipate what users may need next.
